Yadav, whose last appearance for India was in the T20I series against England in February, shared news of his successful surgery via social media, expressing his enthusiasm to return to the cricket field.

In his social media post, Suryakumar confirmed the surgery details, stating he underwent the procedure for a sports hernia located in his lower right abdomen. He added that he is grateful the surgery went smoothly and he is already on the path to recovery.

The surgery follows Suryakumar's remarkable performance in the recent Indian Premier League (IPL), where he showcased his batting prowess for the Mumbai Indians. He amassed 717 runs in 16 innings, finishing as the tournament's second-highest run-scorer.

His most recent international match was during India’s five-match T20I series against England, which concluded in early February. The timing of his surgery and subsequent recovery period align with India’s current five-match Test series against England.
