The incident occurred after Seales dismissed Australian captain Pat Cummins at Kensington Oval. Seales made a gesture towards the dressing room, which the ICC deemed inappropriate.

The ICC stated that Seales breached Article 2.5 of the Code of Conduct, which pertains to using actions or gestures that could incite an aggressive response from a dismissed batter in an international match.

Seales attempted to minimize the incident's significance after the day's play. "It did not really mean anything and it was more a bit of frustration. Pat hit a couple of good shots off me and I just showed him where the dressing room was and there wasn't really anything in it," Seales stated.

In addition to the fine, Seales received one demerit point for the infraction. This marks his second offense within a 24-month period, bringing his total to two demerit points.

Despite the penalty, Seales contributed to a strong performance by the West Indies bowling attack on the second day of the Test match against Australia.

The hosts secured a 10-run first-innings lead, fueled by a 67-run partnership for the sixth wicket between Shai Hope, who scored 48, and captain Roston Chase, who contributed 44.

Australia's second innings began tentatively, reaching 92 for 4 wickets, giving them an overall lead of 82 runs. Seales claimed his sixth wicket of the match by bowling out Josh Inglis for 12.

The match is delicately poised as it heads into day three, with Travis Head on 13 and Beau Webster on 19 ready to resume batting for Australia.
