While many Bollywood celebrities shield their children from the constant glare of the media, Riteish Deshmukh and his wife Genelia Deshmukh have adopted a different approach. They are often seen allowing their sons, Riaan and Rahyl, to interact with the paparazzi during public appearances.
The Deshmukh family often greets photographers during public outings.
In a recent interview, Riteish Deshmukh shared his perspective on paparazzi culture and how he prepares his children for it. He explained that his sons are active in sports and spend a lot of time outdoors. As a result, they are frequently photographed by the paparazzi.
He believes it's essential to teach children how to handle media attention. “You have to talk to the kids and ensure they don’t feel entitled,” he said, emphasizing the importance of humility.
Deshmukh believes that engaging with the media provides his children with valuable lessons in humility. "The only thing I tell my sons is, ‘Getting clicked is an honour. When the paps ask for pictures, you thank them for clicking and move on.’”
He also stressed that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to parenting, especially under public scrutiny. He added, “Just because one person does something doesn’t mean others have to do the same. I think parents know what’s best for their children. If people feel they don’t want their kids to be in the media, it should be respected.”
On the professional front, Riteish Deshmukh was last seen in Housefull 5, directed by Tarun Mansukhani. The movie boasts a star-studded cast, including Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Panday, Shreyas Talpade, and Johny Lever.
