Arshdeep Singh Reveals Wrestling Bouts with Bowling Coach Morne Morkel: A Unique Practice Routine

A recent viral video captured the attention of cricket fans, showing Indian pacers Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep engaging in playful wrestling with team bowling coach Morne Morkel during a net session in Birmingham.

Neither Arshdeep nor Akash Deep featured in the playing XI that suffered a five-wicket defeat at Headingley.

In a video shared by the BCCI, left-arm pacer Arshdeep shed light on the story behind the intriguing visuals. He explained Morne Morkel's unique approach to ending practice sessions.

"Morne had said that the moment our practice session ends, he will have a last move and he will pin me. Thereafter, there will be no practice," Arshdeep revealed. This playful wrestling match served as the signal that the day's training was officially over.

He further added, "He has found a new way to call off the day, and he was just showing us that." This lighthearted approach to training highlights the camaraderie and positive atmosphere within the Indian team.

India currently trails the five-match series 0-1 after the defeat at Headingley. England successfully chased down a target of 371 runs on the final day of the first Test, securing a five-wicket victory.

Jasprit Bumrah is expected to participate in only three out of the five Test matches due to workload management.
